The following music video contains graphic scenes.

Title: Born Free
Artist: M.I.A
Director: Romain Gavras

M.I.A, Born Free from ROMAIN-GAVRAS on Vimeo.

I do not really call that singing. I could hardly understand was she was saying except for "born free". It is not the current trend of "Lady-Gaga"-ness.

But the video was enough to capture the essence. Definitely something which M.I.A relates to and has brought it to us in a unique way.

Genocide related hoo-haas are not "made-up" stories. It happened. I feel that M.I.A and Romain Gavras have done an excellent job by presenting us the gist of the past and current by using the hyperbole of redheads. The expressions, gun shots and explosions were, "WOW".

It is interesting to read the comments on Vimeo. Everyone has their own views, own crap-shit to say.

I think the strong element is obviously the video. The music will not be able to survive on it's own. This is something that has to be visually understood. Not the normal radio material.
